Top Family-Fun Travel Picks:

See the Tampa Bay Rays play at Tropicana Field

My wife and I highly recommend you take in a baseball game while you're down here, you can even take your kids. The Tampa Bay Rays play at Tropicana Field which is only 10 minutes away from our hotel. Tickets start at only $15, how can you beat that for three hours or more of entertainment. You might even have a chance to meet Raymond, the Tampa Bay Rays mascot (On Sundays after the game, the kids can run the bases.) So try to plan for a Sunday game with the family.

Go Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico

There's excellent fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico, we went out with Capt. Chris and caught our fair share of red grouper, black grouper, and snapper. We had a great time and we highly recommend you experience the thrill of reeling in the "big one."

Visit Walt Disney World Resort

Whenever our family comes to visit from up north or whenever we have a day to get away, we always go to Disney World Resort in Orlando, the "theme park capital of the world". Disney World is only 90 minutes from our hotel, and is perfect for when you've had too much sun on the beach.

Ride the Ferry to Shell Island

We definitely recommend taking a ferry boat to Shell Island, it is a beautiful natural island with lots of wildlife like the great blue heron, royal tern, laughing gull, and the roseate spoonbill. There's also beautiful shells scattered along the beach for your picking. Maybe you'll even find a starfish.
