After you’ve gotten situated in your St Pete Beach hotel, you will most likely want to hit one of our renowned beaches. While the beaches offer plenty of fun and relaxation, there is much more to do than lounge in the sand. With St. Petersburg just a few minutes away, there is an entire city filled with unique experiences. To help you get the most out of your time here, we have made a list of some of our favorite things to do in the city.
Saturday Morning Market: St. Petersburg is home to the largest farmers market in the state. The main market runs from October until May with a smaller version running during the summer months. At the market, you can find a wide selection items, such as produce, locally made goods, music on every corner, and a diverse selection of freshly prepared food.
Salvador Dali Museum: Art lovers will be pleased to know the city is home to the largest collection of Salvador Dali paintings outside Europe. The building is hard to miss as it has a massive free-form geodesic glass bubble called the Enigma that is made of thousands of pieces of triangular glass. Along with being able to take in the artist’s stunning masterpieces, it also offers a great view of Tampa Bay.
Golf: Avid golfers will not find a shortage of courses near St Pete Beach. They can play at the Dunedin Golf Club, which was designed by one of the most famous course architects, Donald Ross. The Vinoy Renaissance Golf Club is considered to have one of the best par 5 holes in the country and has caught the attention of many professional golfers.
Blue Ocean Film Festival: If you are lucky enough to be in St. Petersburg at the start of November, you can catch the Blue Ocean Film Festival. The international festival features over 100 movies and talks on conservation efforts from scientists and film directors.
Ribfest: Another major November event is the annual Ribfest. It is a weeklong celebration of barbecued ribs featuring concerts from famous bands. Along with great food and music, it also offers a variety of other activities.
To keep the fun going into the night, you can also check out the Central Art District or become part of St Petersburg’s vibrant nightlife on Central Ave. With all of these events and activities, you will be hard pressed to find a guest at any one of our hotels in St Pete Beach, Florida saying they are bored.
